Render and masonry paint are the first line of defence for your walls. When render cracks or comes away from the brick, water gets behind it, frost pushes more of it off, and damp can reach the inside of the building. Ashlar Roofing applies new render, repairs cracked and blown sections and repaints rendered and brick walls on homes and commercial buildings across Greater London. Traditional sand and cement render suits patch repairs and many existing walls, while modern silicone and monocouche renders are coloured through and need very little upkeep.

Good results depend on preparation. Walls are cleaned of dirt, algae and flaking paint, cracks are cut out and filled, and dusty or chalky surfaces are treated with a stabilising solution so the new coating bonds. On older solid-walled houses, we use breathable paints and compatible renders so moisture can escape rather than being trapped in the brickwork. Scaffold is arranged to give safe, steady access to every elevation, and because we also handle roofs, gutters and fascias, defects found at the top of the wall can be repaired before the scaffold comes down.
